Fans of Jujutsu Kaisen will know by now that the character of Master Tengen is actually the link that connects this flashback arc to the present timeline in this intriguingly structured second season of the popular show. And while we have written basically everything there is to write about Master Tengen and the Star Plasma Vessel, a concept that is closely related to Tengen, it still raises some questions, and after revealing the nature of the Star Plasma Vessel in some of our earlier articles, we have decided to talk about the Star Plasma Vessel once again. Now that Riko is dead, fans have been wondering who the next Star Plasma Vessel is, and in this article, we will tell you the answer to that question.

Not long after Tojo killed Riko by shooting her in the head, it was revealed that there was another Star Plasma Vessesl, the Special Grade jujutsu sorceress Yuki Tsukumo. She is a maverick who is not aligned with the Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College and works towards a curse-free world by herself because of her disagreements with the higher-ups. Although she initially detested Tengen and refused her role, she eventually died while trying to protect the powerful entity.

The rest of this article will be about Yuki Tsukumo, as we will focus more on the Star Plasma Vessel in the series. We will explain how the Star Plasma Vessel relates to Master Tengen and why this concept is important. We will also reveal everything you need to know about Yuki as the Star Plasma Vessel without revealing too much about this great character. Be careful, though, as we must inform you that this article will contain many spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, so you have to decide for yourselves how you want to approach it.

Yuki Tsukumo is the only identified Star Plasma Vessel aside from Riko

We have already talked about Master Tengen so much here on Fiction Horizon that you probably know everything by heart. But, for those who haven’t read our previous text, we’ll just briefly recap their story. Master Tengen are, as we know, responsible for keeping and maintaining the jujutsu society’s barriers; if they were to stop doing that, the world could be plunged into chaos.

They also seem extremely powerful, which is why the jujutsu sorcerers deem their security important. They are actually a centuries-old female jujutsu sorcerer who has survived thanks to their Innate Technique, Immortality, which grants eternal life, but does not stop aging (it only slows it down). This is why, every 500 years, Master Tengen need to change their body with a new one to restart the process.

If that does not happen, Master Tengen will evolve into a higher being that might be good towards the humans but also into a monster since it loses all reason. In order to prevent that from happening, the Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College is responsible for protecting the Star Plasma Vessel and securing the merger since Tengen is actually located underneath the school.

So, as we have said, the Star Plasma Vessel comes into the story now, as the vessel is important for restarting Tengen’s technique. Namely, to avoid evolution and restart the whole process, Master Tengen needs to merge with a special human called the Star Plasma Vessel.

As far as it is known, the Star Plasma Vessel is always a human who has the potential to refresh Immortality and restart the whole process. As seen in Riko’s case, they do not have to be active jujutsu sorcerers, but it is implied that they can see curses.

As far as their powers are concerned, it is unknown how powerful a vessel has to be, but some vessels are able to communicate between themselves even if the merger has already happened. While the process is seemingly not possible for the user of Immortality, as they are unable to communicate with those they have merged with. The process of becoming a Star Plasma Vessel is unknown, as are all the other details.

Also, as far as it is known, the Star Plasma Vessel has to be a woman, as all the previous ones have been women; this is possibly because Tengen was originally a female jujutsu sorcerer. Whether a Star Plasma Vessel is born or created is unknown, as is how a Star Plasma Vessel is actually found, so there are still a lot of mysteries surrounding this specific role, especially since we haven’t seen any merger in the series; it has only been talked about.

So, as we have said, the Star Plasma Vessel is a very special role for a young woman; throughout history, several women have merged with Master Tengen to maintain the balance. Riko was the Star Plasma Vessel of her time, and the situation was quite confusing when she was killed. Was there another one? Ironically – yes. At the same time, there existed yet another Star Plasma Vessel: Yuki Tsukumo, the powerful Special Grade sorceress.

Yuki Tsukumo was, in the past, chosen as the Star Plasma Vessel. She strongly opposes the practice of using children to reset Tengen’s technique, and she has no intention of helping them in any way, despising their passive nature and the ease with which they justify any cruelty. Her beliefs focus on finding a way to wipe out the curses all at once instead of exorcising them when they appear, choosing to evaluate the feasibility rather than the ethics behind it.
