With Jujutsu Kaisen 0 finally being released around the world ahead of the show’s second season, the Jujutsu Kaisen animated franchise has finally been completed, as far as the already released content is concerned. We now know what the plot of the movie is and how it ties into the main manga series, which is why we have decided to focus on a specific plot element of the movie. In this article, you are going to find out whether Satoru Gojo really killed Suguru Geto in Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and what implications that had for the plot going forward.

It has been officially confirmed that Satoru Gojo did, indeed, kill Suguru Geto at the end of Jujutsu Kaisen 0. Geto had already been fatally injured when he met Gojo, so he would have died anyhow. Gojo killed him out of respect and because he did not want his superiors to get Geto’s body; unfortunately, this allowed Kenjaku to later possess Geto’s body and obtain all of his powers, which is something that Gojo could not foresee.

The rest of this article is going to focus on whether Suguru Geto was actually killed by Satoru Gojo at the end of the Jujutsu Kaiden 0 movie and manga. We are going to give you all the details you need to know about the set of events related to Suguru Geto’s death and everything you’ll need to understand what actually happened to him in the series.

Did Gojo really kill Geto in Jujutsu Kaisen 0?

The story of Geto’s death starts way back in 2017 when Geto released a Curse at an elementary school that swallowed two children. However, the Curse was defeated by Yuta Okkotsu and Rika Orimoto. Some months later, Suguru went to the Hapina Gallery to see the vengeful S-class spirit, Rika. Suguru releases a powerful spirit and makes it fight against Yuta and Toge Inumaki.

After the two manage to defeat the Curse, Suguru expresses his disappointment at Rika’s non-appearance. Suguru also says that he will have to meet Yuta soon as he will have to return his student card which one of his spirits stole. Afterward, Suguru returns to his base. A few days later, Suguru helps a woman cursed by a spirit. The woman expresses how grateful she is that the plague is exorcised and leaves.

Following this, Suguru expresses his distaste for non-exorcists. Manami Suda shows up and informs him that his commanders have arrived. As Suguru and his comrade head to the meeting, one of Suguru’s donors, Kanemori, suddenly shows up. Kanemori complains that Suguru has to give him an exorcism since he gave so much to his sect which Manami confirms before adding that he hasn’t donated for six months.

Suguru then kills Kanemori and heads for his meeting. Suguru meets up with his fellow Jujutsu sorcerers and informs them that they will soon be attacking the Exorcism School. Later, Suguru arrives at the school in Tokyo with his allies. He introduces himself to Yuta and reveals to him that he wishes to kill all non-exorcists in order to create a world only for exorcists, which Yuta disagrees with.

The school staff suddenly show up and ask why Suguru is here, to which Suguru says he will release 2,000 Curses all over Japan on December 24. Suguru then goes with his followers but leaves a few Curses in the high school. On December 24, Suguru arrives at the Tokyo Exorcism School to get Rika. Suguru kills all his opponents and puts up a veil all around the school.

Suguru then encounters Maki Zen’in, Panda, and Toge, whom he easily defeats. While Suguru is happy to see Jujutsu sorcerers sacrificing themselves for other sorcerers, Yuta shows up and then gets angry. Suguru sends several Curses on Yuta and Rika, but Yuta manages to fight back and save his friends as well as heal them.

As Yuta returns to battle, Suguru releases more Curses, but Yuta uses Rika’s power to defeat them. Suguru manages to understand what Rika’s power is and further expresses his desire to possess her. Suguru then takes on Yuta in close combat and overpowers him, causing Rika to pull Yuta away from Suguru. While Suguru faces Yuta, the master of Curses expresses his views on non-exorcists.

Yuta rushes at Suguru but the latter manages to break his sword. After a brief conversation that the two have with each other, Suguru decides to use all his Curses against Yuta and Rika through his Whirlwind technique. Yuta decides to fully unleash Rika’s power at the cost of his life and both fire an energy beam powerful enough to exorcise all of Suguru’s blights and force the latter to retreat.

Suguru ends up with his right arm ripped off and expresses his desire to possess Rika. After all of Suguru’s classmates are gone, Satoru Gojo arrives at the institute to confront Suguru. After talking with the latter, Satoru kills him out of respect, as the two were very close before these events. He also tells him that he won’t allow their superiors to have his body. He then meets his student and informs Yuta that he is a distant relative of his. When Rika’s curse is lifted, Satoru says that it was Yuta who cursed her and congratulates him for undoing his curse. Later, Satoru is with Yuta and informs him that it was Suguru who had his student ID.

What happened to Geto after Jujutsu Kaisen 0?

After all of these events, Satoru Gojo indeed decides not to donate Suguru’s body to the Exorcism School. This allows an entity named Kenjaku to take possession of Suguru’s corpse, reanimating him, and giving him access to all of his abilities. The man who is now called “Suguru Geto” by many people is in fact an impostor called Pseudo-Geto. Finally, we can conclude that Gojo did give Geto a quick death, but since Geto would have died anyway because of his injuries, Gojo cannot be held accountable really.
