Disney+ has a rich library with plenty of content for just about every age group out there. From animated shows to sci-fi movies and rom-coms it’s difficult to leave without finding something that suits your tastes. In today’s post, we’re going to focus on teen-oriented content on Disney+. We’ve reviewed the recent additions to the library as well as some old evergreen hits and it resulted in this ultimate disney+ movie list for teens. Let’s check out the movies!

1. The Fault in Our Stars (2014)

Everyone can appreciate a good coming-of-age movie and The Fault in Our Stars is one of the prime examples of the genre. The movie follows two teens with deadly diseases Hazel Grace Lancaster that has thyroid cancer and Augustus “Gus” Waters that previously struggled with bone cancer and lost a leg due to it. The movie follows Greg Heffley, a 12-year-old boy who is just about to start middle school. If the rest of the year is anything like his first day of school, it won’t be easy at all. Greg Heffley soon learns the ropes, he manages to understand all that is expected of him as well as the social conventions he needs to follow.

4. High School Musical (2006)

High School Musical is one more extremely popular series of movies. The plot of the movie revolves around a dreaded “natural” social order that every high school has. The movie is set in a distant future, humans have managed to colonize space and that led them to a conflict with several alien species including Arachnids – essentially giant bugs. Johnny Rico a teen at first joins because his girlfriend is part of the army as well, as soon as she dumps him however he makes a fatal mistake on one of his drills which results in him abandoning the army and going his own way. As luck would have it, it’s hard to leave the past behind, especially after a giant asteroid crawling with Arachnids crashes into Buenos Aires leaving an enormous death toll behind, including his parents.

Kat and Bianca are sisters growing up with an overprotective overbearing father who is worried about teen pregnancies and the social ramifications of young girls dating. Kat is an older sister but due to her socially withdrawn personality, she does not suffer from their father’s logic as much as the younger sister Bianca does.

Kat and Bianca’s father eventually agree that Bianca can date as soon as Kat finds a date, he knows the chances of that happening are slim as best. This propels Bianca and her crowd of suitors to get creative to secure dates for both Kat and Bianca since the two are apparently now a packaged deal.

It’s hard being a teen, and even harder being a teen with social anxiety who is apparently an heir to the throne. Mia Thermopolis found out she is royalty this was an incredible shock to her as she spent basically her whole life as a social outcast. She eventually accepts to think about her new royal duties and has plenty of time to come to terms with her new status.

However, her life is further complicated when due to her new-found duties her friends start to treat her differently and the paparazzi start to follow her every step of the way.

Descendants is the first entry in this incredibly popular series of adventure films. The movie is set in a fantasy kingdom inhabited by well-known and famous magical Disney princesses, princes, and villains. After Beast and Belle got married and established a new fairer kingdom, the United States of Auradon, one of the first things they did was to banish all the villains to live separately in the slums.

Now quite a few years after that first banishment Belle’s and Beast’s son Ben, a soon-to-be-king, wants to offer a chance for redemption to four selected children of the former villains.

Max Dennison and his younger sister accidentally awaken a trio of ancient and powerful witches while trick-or-treating, this will lead them on an exciting albeit dangerous adventure of their lives!

One day while checking current assignments she discovers what seems to be a long-forgotten letter from a girl Mackenzie. Eleanor makes her way to the real world and is shocked to find out that Mackenize is actually a 40-year-old woman, struggling in every sense. Her task gets significantly more difficult with this revelation and Eleanor has limited time to find Mackenzie’s true love or else she will face harsh punishment.

Stargirl tries to get Leo to come out of his shell and the two bond over mutual interests.

Every time he sets out in the water his body changes even more dramatically. Cody’s new powers and changes will eventually endanger him, his social life, and his family.

This stunning drama deals heavily with themes of civil rights. The Hate U Give follows Starr Carter, who lives in a black neighborhood but goes to an almost all-white school. One night while returning from a party with her friend Khalil they are stopped by a police officer for a seemingly small and inconsequential mistake.

The officer is rude and aggressive toward them and a simple innocent action made by Khalil results in him being shot and killed on the spot. The resulting scandal sees Starr as a central character that needs to make her voice heard, even as her life and the lives of those dear to her heart are in danger.

Frenemies is a teen comedy-drama that follows three different friendships. The friendships are all seemingly strong until the first obstacle appears that threatens to destroy them. Three friendships are not connected instead they follow a teenage boy and a dog, two teenage girls, and Savannah O’Neal and Emma Reynolds-teenage alter egos.

This found-footage superhero thriller follows three teenagers, Andrew, Matt, and Steve. All three of them face certain troubles but are unwilling to talk about them openly. Their lives further change when they randomly discover a glowing crystalline object while exploring a random hole underground that has opened nearby. The trio is shocked when they find out a week later that they have developed superpowers.

At first, they use their superpowers for pranks and messing around with other people, but when the prank goes wrong and almost results in a fatality, the trio changes their attitude and approach to their newfound powers.

20. The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)

Last but not least, The Amazing Spider-Man! Starring Andrew Garfield in the role of Peter Parker. The Amazing Spider-Man deals with our hero’s origin story, the changes he is undergoing, his search for identity, his first serious crush Gwen Stacy, and many other issues normal and not quite normal for his age. The matters are further complicated when he realizes the responsibility to take down The Lizard rests solely on him.
