In reply to Valentina Kraljik. It doesn’t have to be Kalabak, an adopted scion of Darkseid could be used. Perhaps a retcon of Beast Boy’s origin, one of his parents is a lesser known child of Darkseid, maybe they didn’t even know themselves. Darkseid caused their deaths, and is responsible for all of Garfield’s suffering: from getting captured by thieves, to Nicholas Galtry being paid, blackmailed, or manipulated into sending assassins after Beast Boy. To corrupt Garfield, and make him hate humanity, but when he’s taken in by Doom Patrol, they erode some of his hatred, then he joins the Titans… Perhaps it’s a mystical covenant, and just by Garfield and Raven getting together, the forces of Apokalips and Trigon will be joined.
